An Independent Personal Trainer can diagnose issues that most clients aren't aware of. I do a lot of work behind the scenes. There is always new research regarding how to correct muscle imbalances, which exercises work best with which muscle groups, and the proper techniques for these exercises. I do the leg work - choosing the best gym and equipment for each client, writing programs that are fresh, varied, and suited to each individual level.
My clients achieve better results through workouts that are efficient, enjoyable, and fun.
Lack of consistency is probably the biggest barrier to success that you will face. We all get bored from time to time. We can all get discouraged. We all have off days. It's so important at these times to push on, if only for the psychological benefits of overcoming these challenges.
I can help - with patience, encouragement, a varied routine, and the occasional shared laugh.
Some client's budgets don't allow for individual training. Others prefer to work out two to four times a week with a group, as opposed to having an individual session once or twice a week. Some enjoy the social aspect of group training, and it brings a sense of community to their lives. Others have demanding schedules without any flexibility. This may also be the only time during the week when they concentrate purely on themselves, and they guard this time fiercely.
At the end of the day, it's all about what works best for you.
Yes - It's important to maintain a regular training regime, even when on vacation. Fitness should be a lifestyle, like healthy eating, not like some fad diet that is followed for a few months and then abandoned. If you can only do one individual session a week with me due to time or monetary constraints, I am more than happy to write a program for you to follow on your own time, at your own gym, or at home. Indeed – I expect it. Once a week isn’t sufficient.
Yes - I often do this when clients are away. Several have even moved to other cities, and we still work together. In my experience, one doesn’t need expensive equipment or a dedicated space to train at home. During the worst lockdowns of the Pandemic, I was able to successfully work with a number of clients who were confined to small inner-city apartments. Exercise Bands, Skipping Ropes, Dowels, Dumbbells, a TRX Suspension System, and Stability Balls are all relatively inexpensive and compact pieces of equipment. A busy schedule or business trip is no reason to fall out of the habit of working out - you can train anywhere.
Get in touch with me through the message function on the Contact Page and I'll get back to you promptly to schedule a time when we can discuss if I am the best trainer for you.
